John Lanigan (JL): A former Ravenna resident has been charged with aggravated robbery of here uncle and is in the Portage County Jail on $10,000 bond...police say Penny Cleavinger (sp), 23, stopped at the home of her uncle, Terry Angel, 43, on North Chestnut on Thursday to ask him to help her with her car. Jimmy Malone (JM): That's a reasonable request... JL: Angel said okay and he bent down to look at the engine, when he was struck with the car hood and then hit from behind with a tire iron... JM: Gee, he was going to help her... JL: He said he was driven to Cleveland Road, where he was dumped from the car. Angel said he wandered to a business on Cleveland Road and he called police. Angel said he was robbed of $233, wallet and keys. He was treated at Robinson Memorial Hospital for head and arm injuries, police said. Cleavinger pleaded innocent yesterday in Portage County Municipal Court... JM: That's a rough thing when you're looking at the engine of a car and the hood comes down on your head... JL: So here's your 23 year old niece... JM: Someone who you know... JL: Who comes over and says hey, umm, uncle, can you come out here for a second, I've got a problem with my car, would you take a look at it for me? Oh, sure, how ya doing, I'll go out and take a look. Opens it up, bend over, BAM, the hood comes down, WHAM, you're hit with a tire iron, you're pushed into the car, driven to a road, dumped out on the street and robbed of everything. What did she think? He wouldn't remember? JM: Well, you know, it could have been more than one niece, maybe he has more than one niece and he wouldn't remember which one did it...that's a possibility... JL: He knew who it was... JM: Well, John, a minor point...(laughter) JL: Did she think she killed him? JM: I don't, I doubt it, I don't know. This is why we call it Knuckleheads in the News. The girl's an idiot... JL: But it's your own family... JM: I know. JL: At least put a bag over your head. Disguise yourself, do something. JM: Remember, a couple weeks ago, we had two sons who took their father at gunpoint to a bank and forced him to withdraw money? JL: Take all your money out and give it to us. JM: And they ran off...and he said my sons did it and they went and arrested them... JL: Who did this to you? It was my kids. Who beat you up and left you here on Cleveland Road? It was my niece...okay...amazing...
